Last Monday morning the weather forecast gave me a 48 hour window with essentially 0 chance of rain. I made a hasty decision to do an impromptu jaunt to the west coast.

Although maybe not, and Laurel certainly not, considering the 19th century security system...
My only gripe is lack of hangers...
Staggering distance from...
After checking out, I'd hoped to get a picture in front of Ludington Plumbing and Heating (inside joke: see Thoughts/Ouray Dispatch ) but Googlemaps found no business with that or similar name.
I went to the beach.
I went to the beach.
Had it all to myself.
Mechanical notes: In September Therese went into the BMW dealership for the fuel pump recall and while there I had Don try to solve the stalling problem. He didn't find anything mechanically amiss, and trying to set the idle speed higher by simply adjusting the stop screw had no effect, but I'd also asked him to check for software updates and indeed there had been a new release in 2018. He downloaded it, and after I got the bike back for several hundred miles it seemed like the update might be the silver bullet.
Alas, 641 miles later the problem returned in the (heretofore unprecedented) form of a stall as I was rolling the throttle on while departing a stop. As I coasted across the fortunately empty right turn lane into the cross street I kept stabbing the starter button, but it kept acting like a dead battery until after about half a dozen tries she started. Such reluctance to start after a stall event is less frequent than the stalls themselves, but not uncommon. Might just need a shot of WD40 into the switch.
During the Ludington ride there was another stall while rolling on, and more of the typical incidents while pulling up to a stop. Requiring multiple attempts to restart also happened.
Looks like I'll be cranking up complaints to NHTSA and BMW NA.
